I’m Doyle Albee, and I’m the president of Metzger Associates, a full-service communications firm specializing in bringing true communications strategy and planning to an ever-changing media landscape.
Put simply: I’m not your father’s PR guy.
Since you’re here, I’m guessing you might want to know little about me, so here goes…
I started my career — and often end my days — with beer. From Coors to Metzger, I’m fortunate that I’ve been able to work with great companies and clients to build a strong track record of success in public relations, marketing communications and social media with experience in a number of industries, including consumer packaged goods, cable and telecommunications, healthcare and technology.
After merging my successful public relations practice with Metzger Associates in 2005, I immediately founded Metzger’s Social Media Practice. Through this practice area, Metzger develops strategy and programs for clients focusing on social media communities, engagement and tools. Programs have included work with Twitter, Facebook, Foursquare, mobile marketing, blog development, monitoring, integration of social media throughout large organizations and a number of other social media programs for companies ranging from start-ups to members of the Fortune 500.
As I mentioned, I spent the first 10 years or so of my working life at Coors Brewing Company (I’m not publishing a year, because it was a long time ago!) in both public relations and marketing positions. I also worked with Sterling-Rice Group, directed global communications for hard disk drive manufacturer Maxtor and founded and managed my own public relations firm, which I merged with Metzger Associates.
