I have always been focused on helping people use technology to achieve better results. Early in my career, I did this by focusing on technology. What I realized is that this technology focus left people to their own devices to figure out how to leverage it to improve their jobs, lives and overall productivity. This approach was flawed. It was when I shifted my focus to individual and organizational challenges that I started to have greater impact on improving outcomes.

Today, time is the currency that we all value the most. This really drove me to re-focus my efforts around, “What can I do to make your job easier, take less time, give me better insight and improve your overall quality of life?”. This ultimately led me to a career in and around Social Business and organizational transformation. There a lot of people who want to talk about challenges and a far fewer that actually take action to deliver.

We are at an exciting juxtaposition in the enterprise where our consumer behaviors are demanding much more out of our workplace. I have always believed that effective use of technology and collaboration will differentiate the leaders from the followers in any industry. Solutions have to provide an easier and quicker way to do things. I like to look for new ways to improve a company’s performance and I’m currently focused on the area of business and personal value.

Social business is challenging. This mainly is because the people who are buying the solutions need to get value or ROI but beyond that, the people who use the solution need to also feel like they are receiving value. If both sets of stakeholder’s need are not addressed, then they will not participate and the initiative fails.

I work across technology and business to understand the challenges, align people and technology to improve performance and satisfaction. When this connection is made rapid improvements happen and organizational transformation is the result.
